So this is Alex' latest tweet:

But thanks to my NCIS "enhance" skills, I managed to get this:

Cross-checking with MB's archives points to Tri-tach technology from the AI wars.
And there's little doubt that's a Flux Anchor of some sort.

Looks like there's more jobs coming...

Looks tiny. I think I can take it in the starting wolf

Visible in Tart's pic:
1 Guardian PD (opposite hidden)
1 High Intensity Laser (on centerline)
1 Phase Lance (opposite hidden)
2 Ion Beams (both visible)
3 PD Lasers (opposite hidden)
1 Tactical Laser* ( opposite hidden)

That gives a current slot count of 2(3) large, 3(4) medium, and 4(8) small.
Number in parentheses assumes the ship is symmetrical.

*Disputable, since it is largely obscured by the S even in the cleaned pic.

i wonder if the phase anchor is part of what i assume is some sort of REDACTED battleship/mothership, or of something else.

and the anchor shape is quite strange, especially considering Tri-Tachyon also designed all of the player-usable phase ships, which all share the standard anchor shape. does it have some special function, or does the lack of human crew (which suffer pretty bad side-effects from repeated phase transitions) allow a more effective/efficient anchor design?

I’m curious as to what this is... it looks like a high tech capital, but we already have the Odyssey and the Paragon and with the Astral, there’s a high tech ship for every capital role. I would say it’s a Remnant ship, as they do lack heavy capital ships, however a close look shows a bridge, which is something the Remnant don’t have. Unless of course it’s a Remnant ship that once had a crew of tri-tach corporate officers on-board to serve as commanders of their AI fleets.

Best guess, it’s Remnant, and since it’s a ship and not a station, it roams the fringes. Acts like a moving Battlestation, providing a good reason why the major powers ignore the sector fringes and only send out mercenaries who no cares about if they go missing.

The Remnants currently don't have capitals so my guess is that this is it.

Thought I remember Alex saying work was being done on a new "boss" ship. This might be it...

More false sense of security and safety enforced by main governments of the sector for the sector? Good, it'll be all the much more satisfying and sweeter for me to hammer them in the face with the terror of truth with such a mechanical beast. 8)

Maybe the AI go on the offensive in some kind of massive game event.

My bet would be on a [REDACTED] Capital ship (which they have been sorely lacking). Now, they need a mainline capital sure, but a few "boss" ships roaming around would be awesome. I'm still a big fan of some entirely optional battles against some kind of grand Remnant fleet or super-capital ship, kind of like the giant roaming Weapons in the Final Fantasy series.

Aye!
Spoiler
Remnant boss ships sure do fit in to the lore and in the game's world, IMHO. I can see why the Domain's derelict AI are either inert or roaming and either way seem to have their brains cooked along with programming on the fritz due to being ancient without any energy shields and other missing elements.

However the Remnants have more intellect, energy shields, extra tech and can be hailed through comms (sure the words they speak are a bit of a mess, but still that's something!) so my bet is also that they have their own capital ship or several roaming still somewhere because they feel a lot more organized to begin with. Not that much of a stretch for them to be the Cylons of this game in their own unique way. :)

It probably will have fighters, since current biggest unmanned ship has them.

 ;)

trust me

it is nasty

and its no where near home

I saw it more than once

They are more than deadly

Someone manage kill a single one with 2 rag tag armada(a pyrrhic victory).

Claiming the rewards ain't worth the time

The process of loosing 6 capitals in two settings is a fairly interesting prospect.
