Followers as in fleets that are part of your faction? The "Player" faction does exist and simply having fleets spawn under it should be enough.

I'm looking to do what Nemo does on this video series: he changed the player faction "followers" to the Knights of nautilus or something er other...

You can make all those changes by editing the player_npc.faction file in Nexerelin.
