Title: So who here played Freelancer (and on what server)
Post by: Coolrah on April 26, 2013, 07:01:28 AM: The Title says it all as I noticed a few people who mentioned it in other threads. I played on the Hunters Association servers which after the breakup turned into the Vanguard Federation. Played on the Vanilla server on the clan Syndicate and played on the modded server under the IDL tag.

Post by: Coolrah on April 26, 2013, 09:03:04 AM: I'd wish I could have told you years back about it sprog but microsoft has long closed down the servers to the game thus killing any growth for the game all together. Some servers stayed up but most have all dwindled and died out to just people eventually not playing. Mods came out that really were the reason the game lasted as long as it did (8-9 years) and a lot of them were really awesome for what the modders had to work with.

Post by: sirboomalot on April 26, 2013, 12:40:07 PM: I remember playing freelancer! I tried the multiplayer a year ago with the discovery mod(which still had tons of players, from what I could tell) but I never really got much into it. The singleplayer I beat multiple times.

Might I suggest Bootcamp? I can run windows games fine on that. And since it's natively run, you don't get any slowdown like with emulation.
