Title: AMD FSR on Linux?
Post by: Tempest_Shadow on March 21, 2025, 12:45:01 PM
Is it some how possible to use AMD FSR for Starsector? I would like to run Starsector on my "Old" Laptop with more then ~10-60 FPS (Depends heavy how many Ships/Wrecks are in sight) in Battles.

The System:
Intel Core i5-6300U
24 DDR4 RAM
AMD Radeon R7 M360
POP! os

Vanilla at least should run fine... Either way, I think your GPU is too old for FSR support, but I don't know much since I never tried any scaling tech as far as I can remember.

It was more or less a stupid idea. =D

You could tune down the battle size.

You should try using Zink (OpenGL on top of Vulkan). It's very easy to use on Linux. Some of the graphics effects cause massive slowdowns with default AMD OpenGL drivers.
