If you come across a drifting ship, and it requires a story point to salvage... scrapping it does not give you any equipped weapons. This also seems to be true for story-point ships being scrapped during mass recovery post-combat.

I just assume part of that story point goes not only towards restoring the hull out of state of "radioactive dust in solar wind", but the weapons as well.

Thank you for the report. I'm going to move this into "suggestions" because it seems like it's not so much an error as a question of design intent. (I don't have a strong position on the question and feel its probably fine as-is, but maybe Alex thinks otherwise.)
-
It certainly isn't intuitive.
I wonder, does this happen with post-battle salvage as well?
-
Yeah, I've bug-reported this one too. Got told it was "working as intended".
And I'll admit that the current implementation is better than what came before, where you could infinitely multiply the weapons on a story-point-recoverable wreck by repeatedly considering your options...

^ exactly this. (As to why: implementation details.)

If that's the intent then cool, but it would be nice if this message was removed or changed. Or at least for non-story-point wrecks to always drop their weapons. I find it a little misleading.
(Also I really want those weapons lol)

Non-story-point wrecks do always drop their weapons, but wrecks (both story point and non) usually won't have their full complement of guns and fighter LPCs.
(Sometimes they do! But it's not common.)

I could have sworn I'd lost weapons that showed up on a non story point derelict but I've tested it several times now and I must just be misremembering. Sorry, my bad :-\
