So found the issue at least in terms of why the mod will not load up in the start part should you try to do up a game, it has to do with the Wodan Battle Freighter having a module on it of "Mobile Headquarters". I have tested removing this module from the freighter and the game stopped crashing, loaded up fine, even tested with the ship in question multiple times without issue using the latest SS+ and other mods.

To remove this module in question open this file here, you can use notepad, or any other text editor really.

/gamedir/mods/NGO/data/hulls/ngo_battlefreighter.ship

Do a search for this command below, and simply delete it from the file, save and you should be good to go. However if you already have the Wodan ship in your fleet, I doubt you will be able to preserve the save game without first selling the ship off entirely. Simply putting in storage I am unsure will allow you to keep the save without causing a crash. This aspect I have yet to test out.

If any other errors come up with this mod and you want to use the mod, just post up like the last 10 lines of your log from when the crash happened and I will try to diagnosis the problem.

As a note, I am not the author of this mod, just a Starsector player that has coding & modding experience that is trying to help out the community.

Fyi, that still doesn't fix the mod. It allows you to get into the game and play, however the Experimental Battlecarrier and the Battleship are broken and crash your game as soon as you try to take them into combat.

Fyi, that still doesn't fix the mod. It allows you to get into the game and play, however the Experimental Battlecarrier and the Battleship are broken and crash your game as soon as you try to take them into combat.
I didn't see this error. I played on "Vidar" and "Donar". Expremental Battlecarrier I couldn't find. But no crash existed.

Maybe the combination of mods is causing errors? Can you give the list of mods so we can countercheck.

I'm having the same problem with the 'mobile headquarters' thing.

I'm basically running Nexerelin along with SS+ and then basically all of the faction mods listed as compatibly w/o any '*' attached to their name.

For now I'm just going to play w/o this mod as I've never tried it before. If you figure it out I'll definitely give it a go in the future!

Just wanted to let you know. I've not bothered to try the unofficial fix and likely won't, at least not until later on.

Hmm... it's difficult to tell which MIRV weapon is the issue, since a number of factions have MIRV in their weapons name.

Have you applied the fix that allows NGO to run somewhat properly?

My advise would be to discontinue playing NGO until the mod's author decides to fix it.

There's plenty of other mods you can enjoy after all.

well, I always mod starsector, and I have some (well, surely not a few) mods currently installed. I think what cause the problem, by reading some other crash reports, are the experimental carrier and the battleship (every other ship is just fine). I'm still sticking to the mod, because I enjoy some new content (aka weapons and ships). thanks for the help.
