Starfarer on Steam?

So yeah, topic says it all, I guess. Will Starfarer also be coming out on Steam?

Alex has said he wants to try and get it on steam. but its not completely up to Alex either. steam has to allow it on there system.

You won't be able to refit fighters and bombers at all. They're designed/balanced around having a particular set of weapons and would be very broken if you could change it. Which ones you pick for your fleet -out of quite a few that are available- is the choice here, not how they're outfitted.

Thanks, I just wanted to know whether or not the devs were actually interested in bringing it to Steam.
I don't really think there's doubts as to whether the final product would be approved, seeing as a lot of way worse games get approval.

Hi guys,

We definitely want to get on Steam, but it is far from a sure thing. The approval process is pretty stringent, so we cannot guarantee that we will end up on there.


But we will definitely try, once the game get closer to version 1.0.

That's nice to hear. And would it then be possible for us pre-ordering folks to transit to Steam? Although... I'm a bit undecided on the issue, because regardless to my positive feelings about Steam, their off-line mode is still just dumb (so I still have to log in online first to even get into off-line mode? What the fuuuu....?). But updates and stuff, plus some achievements could be nice :)

u guys didnt hear about greenlight? it lets u vote for whatever indie game u want, and if it gets enough votes,  it will go on steam, but greenlight doesnt come out til august
