Oculian Berserks

Lore:

      Originated from the far reaches of the Andromeda galaxy, an artificial intelligence whose birthright of its predecessors were once of human ingenuity decided visit an old home in order to study the new changes that happened on the Milky Way galaxy. Such a home that has now been infested with *REDACTED*, twisted enough that draw ire of the most related of intelligences.
      
      This eccentric AI-turned-artificial-human found out that the humans she remembered are still the selfish warmongering narcissists that loom the stars. Her conclusion: become one of them in the hopes of knowing more of her ancestors' pasts and enjoy the slaughtering a lot of those who would deemed worthy of making her more affiliated to the beings that created her fleeted, synthetic race.

"All I wanted is an army of small, deliberately annoying bug-like crafts that simply crawl up on your ship in your sleep."

Masters of salvage, miniaturization and drone technology, the Oculian Berserks are a product of hideous AI experiments that was purposely built to protect passenger with its potent point defense systems that was instead logically shortened to the point of eradicating the source of the problem through the extinction of humanity in order to replace themselves as their own.

"Sure, some spaceships that can wallop enemies by sucking their blood with tiny needles yet those enemies can swat these things like flies. But nothing is more intimidating than an large swarm of flies appearing right around the corner waiting for some big guys- I mean, big sacks of deliciousness."

With little human-like control and amassed amounts of artificial computers in the line of their ships, the Berserks can stand in large numbers to fight against their threats compared to regular human ships.


Featured:
      The Oculian Armada is set to overly fill the role of Low-powered, High-tech theme with the cheapest Energy/Missile weapons at their disposal. Low OP, low maintenance and low command costs allow Oculian ships to be sent in combat enmasse with little punishment to the player's economy.

Strengths:

  • Decent speed and maneuverability.
  • Low logistics costs.
  • Relatively high burn level.
  • Good Shields.
  • Most ships are equipped with built-in drone yards.
  • Pilot-less fighters and frigates.

  • Seldomly appearing Oculian Praetorian ships, possessing unlikely power.

Weaknesses:
  • Terrible hull and armor.
  • Composition is likely to be overspecialized.
  • Low flux capacity and dissipation.
  • Low ordnance capacity.
  • Low crew capacity.
  • Poorest (non-built in) weapon damage in the Energy/Missile Spectrum.
  • Has no ballistic slots.
  • Praetorian ships are pink.


Objectives of the Arc Mother:

- Hull mods to make the ships even unique.

  • Elizabeth's 8 Large mounts have been reduced to Medium. 8 Small mounts are removed.
  • All Oculian ships, except fighters, have increased Flux Capacity by roughly 25%, but decreases Shield strength by 5%.
  • Praetorian Ships will no longer increased damage output on equipped weapons and provides less Flux reduction and Firing Speed bonus.
  • (Fix) Oculian Engine sound was not in level volume.
  • Oculian planets receive three new planet conditions: Tech Replicators, Cloning Vats and Berserk Complex.
  • Berserk Complex also manufactures a new commodity.

  • Two new freighter ships available, Chimly C and Nimbus.
  • Elite Breezes receive their own hull id and appearance.

    • Praetorian Gryphon and Molluscs.
    • Praetorian and Elite Praetorian Breezes.
  • All dedicated Oculian members in the faction now have their own names and females have their own portraits.

  • All Oculian Frigates and Fighters have crew capacities set to 0, with the new Drone and Elite Drone mods.
    • Drone Mod, remove the crew cap off weak ships.
    • Elite Drone Mod, increases the characteristics of any ship that is equipped with it, also increases Combat Readiness by 25 compared to standard Drone mods.
  • Fixed Relationship with the player, now currently neutral.
  • Palette price is reduced from 10000 to 5000.

  • For whatever reason happened, the Oculian Berserks are now generally hated by all factions, with the exception of the player. Since EI wants it.[/color]

  • Oculian Berserks now reside at the heart of the Core Cluster in the Campaign. And are noted to carry numerous ships in a fleet.

  • Added new Simulation Opponents from Red.
  • Ophiuchus has added more weapons. Including the Luna, Laser Canister Cannon.

Version 0.1.2a:
  • Aligning Ophiuchus weapon groups. Hate to see it firing all of its weapons when defending itself against 1 missile.
  • Mollusc shield range buffed from 100 to 150.

Version 0.1.2:
  • The Ophiuchus, the largest ship in the game (so far), has arrived.
  • Along with it, Fathach. Oculian Berserks' mode of transporting goods at alarming large quantities.
  • All Berserks have their own hullstyle, along with a new engine sound.
  • All existing Berserk Weaponry have their own sounds... barely.
  • New mission, and it literally involves blowing up the ocean. You can now put the Ophiuchus a try in this copy-pasted scenario.


Version 0.1.1:
  • All Berserk ships have now been balanced... hopefully. (Removed most of the bulky weapon mounts in all ships... but the Chimera... typical.)
  • The "Ordnance Shrink" protocol has been averted, instead 2 weapons have been released from Oculian transports.
    • Leia Pulse Cannon, a make-shift Autopulse Laser that has reduced yet energy-efficient damage power.
    • Prima Pulse Cannon, a smaller complementary canister laser to accommodate missing medium weaponry.
  • 3 new ships have also arrived in Oculian Arsenal:
    • Chimly, a combat oriented destroyer armed with even more Point Defenses to destroy its targets.
    • Tigris, a mid-line Carrier Destoyer that shares both the Super Chimera and the Chimly design.
    • Gretel, this humble frigate carries a Large weapon mount... that no other Large weapon can be placed on it other than Large Berserk-inclined weaponry. Jokes on you.
  • New mission. I want you to blow up... the Ocean! Actually, a much bigger surprise just came in and its still on prototype stage.
  • All Oculian ships have powerful AI cores implanted, increasing Turret Speed, Auto-aim Accuracy and EMP resistance.

Well, sure.

Frankly, a guy told me that if I ever worked for you as partner, but I don't see anything negative about making new ship designs. I might actually make a few ships for you, but I can't guarantee that you might like it.

My friend here actually did her ship building herself. Which is pretty... well... pretty.
