Generally, the limiting factor of moving things around in space is not the density volume it occupies, but its mass (Space is not at a premium in space), so slapping on some prefabbed composite slabs would be an easy and efficient method, I was only arguing that ice could be a valid repair method, not that it'd be optimal.

Honestly, I have no idea about what the logistics of the ships are like, since they can manufacture everything they need to repair a barely functional ship from Schrödinger's supply box, so I wouldn't hazard a guess in this case about what they'd be toting around.

I feel that filling in the depressurized compartments with a quick setting foam polymer, then applying slabs of armor over that would be the most believable and low-tech repair method (sealing the armor slabs by welds/rivets/other joining method to still-existing armor).
