custom ships and mod problems

i am having trouble making a fighter wing and equipping built in weapons on my ships and fighters.
also i have tried making my own mod just with missions for the time being till i can mod a campaign but when i test my mission with my ship. most weapons miss my ship as if they just pass through it. i have set the boundaries up properly and the shield but sometimes missiles pass though the front of it too.
also when i make all the weapons hidden because in game it is quite small i always end up with one that isn't hidden.

i posted a screenshot if anyone has any ideas how to fix it.

That's odd.

do you have it's Center of mass set up? It should be smaller then the shield IIRC.

ah i didnt know that moving my centre of mass opened up a circle. ill try it again now. thanks

yep it can hit other objects now and be hit by weapons fire. how can i add built in weapons because if i click the turret like it says it opens a small empty box and i dont know how to add the weapons so i can make fighter wings.

isn't the box supposed to list weapons?

and this is what i get when i go on the build in weapons section. just a blank sprite.
am i doing something wrong for putting weapons on my ships because i cant make a fighter wing because i cant put weapons on the ships.

did you press '~' by chance? it'll hide all vanilla weapons

Trylobot`s editor: built-in weapons are assigned in hull editor by hitting 'u', not when you are in a variant editor. You can put here any weapons from your mod or vanilla.

Fighter wings don`t require built-in weapons unless they are using some unique guns. Usually fighters are using 'hidden' type mounts.

i havent pressed ~ at all so i tried a couple of times to see if it would show the weapons but it didnt.

if i select a weapon on the variant screen i just get an empty box appear.
theres no built in hull mods on that list either.
and i thought i had to add built in weapons to fighters because they aren't editable in game.
also is there a tutorial anywhere for making weapons to go in game?

If in Trylobot`s editor you see nothing in hull mods or weapons - than you have to look in it`s ini file and check if it has all the sources set up correctly.
If everything looks fine - reinstall the editor and specify all routes on the start to ensure that everything works fine. Don`t forget to set up mod`s data folder and make sure you are not hitting ~ while in the editor.

which i think it all correct
i had hoped to make my own missions with some of my ships as an enemy but i cant until i can attach weapons to my ships and save the armed variants to put into missions so any help getting weapons to show up in the editor is greatly appreciated.

tried extracting the editor again to starsector and it now loads up weapons and hull mods. just get the exception access violation error pop up but i can just drag that off the screen till im finished.
can anyone tell me how to get my modified weapons to show up in the editor to be put onto ship variants?
