Multiple Starsector installs?

I am wanting to install Starsector twice, once for .62a and .651a.

Is this possible and if so how?

to my knowledge you cant. when you install a different version it sets all shortcuts and that to the current version. i know that the old starfarer and any starsector after can be installed together. but you cant have 2 recent starsectors installed

Just rename the folder of the first install. It'll still overwrite the shortcuts but all you need to do is make new shortcuts.

I just have two installs on my desktop.

When installing it will ask where you want it, select another folder name. I have 4 installed.
