It's still a slowly dying game, sadly.

Actually, 2014 is the first year to see a considerable plunge in average number of online players, for both Tranquility server and Dust514.

Wasn't talking subs but more the 'mental' health of the game. The game hasn't been in such a positive outlook overall for a long time.

Seems to be hemorrhaging players at a constant pace YoY. Wonder what CCP will do to try and stop it.

The vid is totally propaganda and misleading to the actual gameplay and how it "feels" "looks" ingame. I played Eve a bit but i never got really warm with it, too many stuff that was annoying or stupid. In the end the games is for people who want to raid some unprotected "whatever alliance" ressource station or to kill 10 people with a fleet of 100 people. AMAZING....  don't forget the senseless grind of he techtrees/skills because you just need time and an active account to log in for 1 min and begin to learn the skill you desire, logging in 2 month later YES i have it... lol.  The game is good for people who want to create their own "star empire" and own little noob factions. The drama storys are fun to hear about, so yeah if you like to grind millions of isk for your big ass faction per month to be a member in a super static combat system where you just have to learn when to click what button and watch nice background while you doing that have fun.

I exaggerrated the whole thread but thats my opinion.

Blerks  :-\ meh game.

Playing EVE gave me some of the best adrenaline rushes of any pvp I've ever tried. Yeah, we had some spreadsheets for coordination, but living in a wormhole was intense.. the cat and mouse skirmishes, hunts and sieges were very satisfying. I'd still play if I had the time.

Edit: I get sad when I see the game attract so much trash talk. There were so many valid ways to play it that were not boring.

Lol personal opinions...
I find it the best mmo space simulator there is.

EVE ONLINE is not for the average player.
And thank god for that.
This games learning curve is the hardest of all games and it requires patients... allot of it!
This is the main reason why some people dont like it or dont understand it.
They expect an action only game like choose your ship and fly.
Seen tons of people come and go.
But the player base stays the same.
So I dont know whos claiming the game is dying lol
But this game never dies.
The played base is the same for years.
Even increased if I look how much players are online.
5 years ago it was 15000 and now its 40000+ players that are online and that on the same server.
Only DUST514 was a complete fail but yeah who releases a game exclusively for PS3 while PS4 was already announced also.
Ive been playing EVE since 2003 and played the game for free since they introduced PLEX.

So conclusion:
Its not a bad game if you dont like it.
Its just not for you.
A game is bad when its unplayable.
Not when the problem sits between the PC and the chair.

Personally I think eve online is an mmo that does not require active playing.
They recently introduced full year skilling queue instead 24 hours.
For exampleI havent played for days because the skills I want take 32 days.
I occasionally logon to adjust and check stuff.
Thats what I like about EVE and no gf aggro anymore since I can spend my time on otherthings than eve.
Since the game keeps learning skills while I'm offline.

And there are so many things to do that arent boring.
Basically almost depends on your imagination.
Hell you can even be a scammerand be succesfull in EVE.
You can even earn money in eve and get paid irl lol buy PLEX with ingame currency and sell with real money with slight discount.

^Hilarious, the idea that EVE is a casual game because it grinds for you while you're AFK. That has never been true and will never be true. I guess it's OK if all you want to do is shoot up rats or something.

I enjoyed EVE back in 2005, but I quit after a year and have no idea why anyone would start fresh and play it nowadays. The anemic game mechanics just kill it, so the only appeal is the trust/btrayal of trust/huge social dynamics aspect, which is *** now because the exploration of the early days is gone, leaving a game populated with superpowers that just want to use you as fresh meat, if you can even get a foot in the door with all the croneyism.
