Apparently conquests can show up in bounties too. So hypothetically you can board them, but boarding is pretty iffy.
They do.  Since my game was not Ironman, I save-scummed until I successfully boarded it.  After 70 levels, it was the only Conquest I found in the whole game.

I think i'm just going to RP this, remove about half a million credits and edit one in my fleet. It is ridiculous since i can flat out-right buy Paragons and Onslaughts by the dozens but not one Conquest, which can be considered weaker than all the above? Yeah.. no.

Level 40something here and yeah, still saw ZERO Conquests. Even went on a bounty-spree and still nothing.

You know what might be a cool / simple little mod I could do up...assuming it is possible, have a script run monthly which checks all the markets everywhere and the searches through them for expensive or high tier ships, then as an event/message say "A [insert name] class vessel is rumoured to be on sale in [insert system name] would,be worth investigating anyway.

A bit further, i'd recommend certain ships, say Hyperion (which btw, still haven't seen one except rarely in tritach fleets), and even Paragons/Onslaughts, be put in a 'special ship' group that spawns rarely, maybe on environmental conditions, and you get an alert for. Keep everything else as the current 'random stock' which would be the 'bulk' of your forces.

For capital ships, Onslaughts, Odysseys, and Paragons were common.  Rather, after I buy one, the markets spawn replacements soon after.  Never found one Astral or Conquest (or Valkyrie) for sale.  Hyperion has been rare; after 70 levels, I found and bought three or four.

Just picked up a Monitor from the Knights of Ludd on Ceyx in the Eos system. I figure that might interest some people.

The stations get new inventory every 30 days. Be sure to check them regularly.
I've heard this several times but are you sure? Because at least for me, the stations never seem to refresh without buying up their ships first. If you just leave it 30 days it stays the same, I've seen.

Ships may replace some of their old stock with new ships, but that is not guaranteed.  Offering new ships after you buy out all of their old ships is guaranteed.  It makes wasting lots of money to clean out shops, even if you do not need or want the ships, for a chance of good ships to appear optimal at the endgame.  (e.g., clean out Tibicena of all of the worthless Hammerheads for more Medusa later.)

I think the game makes a noise when you dock at a station that has updated its stock.
