It crashes the game.

Alex is aware of this bug.  This is just a PSA for any modders who may be getting anomalous crashes with fighter wings.

If this is a PSA for modders...and Alex is aware of this as a bug...then why is it in bugs report & support? This should be in modding.

Nevermind that...there are ways to have it 'appear' as if fighters have a quad trail though :D

Actually, it was the first thing I tried when 0.65 hit, and managed to make it work to some extend (i.e for some reason it doesn't crash in the main menu)
But it's clearly not meant for fighter: it act weird when the craft turn on itself and strafe (moving all over the place, making knots, etc). Also when they activate their engines after coasting, the trail suddenly appear as if they were accelerating all the way.

So "fixing" them for fighters is probably much more involved than only making them available for every engines types. Too bad, I really liked my fighter with this Homeworld vibe...

Noticed how missiles trails are no longer lots of little puffs of smoke, but are now actually contiguous / smooth trails? These are sometimes called ribbon trails, but I think more accurately they are a trail of OpenGL generated 'Quads'.

Because it's still a bug, I guess.

Anyway, I'm hoping Alex will fix it, but it's probably a low priority.
