Plus, it feels wrong to ask people that are the most enthusiastic about the game to burn themselves out on a sub-par version, even if they might be so inclined.

You are my favorite gaming developer simply because you have such a great and ahead of its time methodology of managing both your game and your community.

Make them 10x expensive or  x20 times, just let it be possible to get them and less random.

Can you try the backup in the save's directory? I think that one might work.

 I did try the backup however that didn't work either.It's alright though.I did not expect it to be savegame compatible to be honest though I did think it a nice bonus.I couldn't find a damn Conquest in that playthrough anyway so...

No you can still edit saves. Extract the .xml, do your stuff, put it back into the .rar, load game.

Are you sure you haven't made a typo in your editing?

Well another thing that you can do instead of editing your saves is using the Console Mod. With it you can get ships, weapons, credits and XP real easy

   Definitely no typos.All I changed was numbers.What I did was I disabled save compression,saved,edited and tried to load the game.Didn't work even after I turned save compression back on.And I cannot extract the save archive with win rar so maybe I need a different program.
   I just got the console commands mod that Lazywizard made and am using that instead.Much simpler too.

or devMode if you don't want to use any mods - you can set it to true in ~\starsector-core\data\config\settings.json, press K and L a bunch (getting you cash and experience) then save and turn it back off to play with all the restrictions as usual.

Console mod is probably easier though, as it works without fiddling with settings.json and you can type exactly what you want in terms of credits / xp, and I think also ships.

  The only thing I noticed is that the "pirates" in pirates military is not capitalized.
  I swear,these alpha releases are more stable than 99% of finished games I ever played.
  *** love this game.I hope there is a way to donate or pay again when it is completed because if any game ever deserved a 60 EUR price tag it's this one. 10$ is not nearly enough.
  This baby would be the next Star Citizen on Kickstarter...

Hello All!

Just wanted to throw my two cents in about how awesome this game is!  I absolutely love it, the combat is amazing, and the world feels so much more alive in this latest release.

2 things:  1) I was thinking all day about how neat it would be to be able to deploy allied ships in the combat simulator so you can see how one ship works with another, especially carriers and fighters.  Then it was in the patch release.  This proves that Alex is a mind reader.

2) It would be cool to have missions vs. other factions, not just pirates.
I think the only big thing the game needs now is a higher tier objective: I.e., pitting rival factions against each other.  An easy start in that direction would be as you decrease relationships with a faction (maybe Luddite church?), other enemy factions start putting bounties on said faction.  Or maybe they just put bounties either way to make you question your loyalty.

The game is incredible though.  If you want any help I would love to contribute by writing lore or something in my spare time.  Just give me a faction or something to develop and I'll go nuts!  Keep up the great work.
