I must say I am a bit concerned about the shadowyards as I didn't do much testing against them.

Err *cough*. :D

This may be a dumb question, but where can we watch the fights? * is embarrassed *

[Edit] Of course they just happened, so DR may be editing video now/they're not ready yet.

Some where posted earlier, but taken down again, they could be found under "details" on the brackets page
However there may have been some issues, hence their being taken down.

Templars do fare quite badly against heavy large angle shields like paragons and the shadowyards ships bright side you should do reasonably well against hegemony though I haven't seen the fleets.

My forecast (having seen most of the round 1 fleets) for round 2:
I : Overwhelming victory of Helmut
J : Defeat of Midnight Kitsune
K : tough call... I'd say razor thin advantage for Mesotronik
L : MShadowy fighters get shredded
R : Farlarzia's Templars get annihilated
S : Short victory for Foxer
T : again a tricky one, I'd lean toward Dark Revenant victory by a thread...
U : Victory without any losse for Darloth

Tough luck in a lot of matches, because the opponent already have a good fleet to take on yours, and refit isn't possible.

Oh Ho! You think those crazy Luddic nuts can defeat the might of the Tri-Tachyon Corporation?!  ;)

I hadn't realized that no refits were allowed - thats what I get for not reading carefully :P. There goes my plan to switch my existing ships to Templar weapons!

That said, I should have enough points to buy a whole bunch more ships for next fight, and they will be tailored, oh yes they will...

They probably could if you got your reinforcement and they didn't... (they got a crazy broken loadout though)

They'll get re-uploaded in a few hours: there were encoding problems in the previous videos.

Wow, that fleet comp is nuts. I actually feel the templars may have been nerfed a bit too much, seeing as the max ships you could buy were 6 (frigates) .... vs THAT.
The "heaviest hitting" Would be 1 paladin, 1 crusader, and 1 Jesuit, costing 69/70 of there RP with crew included, with 15 spare crew, and no command points.

Well, I did buy 4 Atlas' and they aren't allowed civilian ships... I'll have a bit more growth than them, though the difference won't become huge until later rounds.
Unfortunately the picture is too blurry for me to make out what weapons they are using... 3 heavy maulers and blue missiles?

3 heavy maulers, 2 flaks, and 4 ion torpedoes. The ion torpedoes have been heavily nerfed for the sake of fairness.

owwie, my comparatively balanced fleet was clearly trounced by heavy capitals with uprated disco-tech lasers :(

I'll have my revenge! Somehow... Maybe...

Seriously though, I did think about buying Templar weapons but the 20 RP hit was pretty big and I'm not really sure the Shadowyards fleet is particularly well suited for them.  I gave it a try but couldn't come up with any designs that didn't max their flux and then flail pointlessly after one volley, and it wasn't even a shipkilling volley.

Maybe I should have gone with teleporting battleships armed with high energy plasma beams instead. *shrug*

I wonder if it would have gone better if the seige mode AI knew it could turn it on any time it liked with almost no downsides...  That will have to wait until the battle results are up, I think.
