Very cool   :D

I'm looking forward to any new toys your library will offer, but is there any chance of you and LazyWizard working together to create one comprehensive library? I'd hate to have to ask players to download two separate library mods in order to use my faction.

Shader support?  Seriously?  I thought Alex said that wasn't possible  :)

Apparently; but heck, if I hadn't been told that, I would have worked on some different things; shaders are something I'm pretty good at and there are a number of things we could do with them to make SS look truly AAA :)

Oh well, we got working AIs out of it and if this is released with source and some reasonable comments, I can probably contribute some neat things :)

So I got it working for multiple instances under the same shader.  It's more work than it seems.

Alex, can you hire DR for a short while to beautify your game with shaders? The tech demonstration videos I've seen so far show how the bar for the visual quality of the game and game immersion can be increased dramatically with a handful of simple shaders. These special effects would certainly be enticing for new players that expect fairly modern shaders in almost all contemporary games.

The downside of increased hardware requirements is something to be considered, but the extra effects can be tick box options in the launcher so that those who don't have the hardware (rare) can still play it without the dynamic lighting and other special effects the increase player engagement.

Besides I think you could ask for $25-$30 RRP for the final release if the game used modern shaders effectively...
