Basic SS JSON syntax highlighting for Notepad++
« on: February 03, 2014, 02:03:12 PM »

This might be handy for a few folks; amongst other things, it handles comments in Notepad++ correctly.  Works for .proj, .ship, etc.

To use it in Notepad++, go to Languages-->Define Your Language-->click on Import and select this XML.  After that, you just need to select this Language when editing.

Why not just select javascript for editing JSON? Is this language definition file fancier?

It's very similar, but it handles a few things differently.  Nothing wrong with the Javascript highlighting, I just wanted more-obvious comments and suchlike :)

Ah, makes sense. To be honest I've never been a fan of the color coding for javascript in npp.

(Actually, comments aren't part of the JSON standard AFAIK)
