Don't you see there's a gamebreaking issue when one solo can destroy fleets 5+ times stronger alone? Not diminishing your skill (that will soon be facing NPC skillpoints aswell), but what you did previously was similar to going lvl 1 against Diablo and make it a good fight.

It's not limiting the gameplay when it was broken to begin with, like tempests owning solo the SDF. If Alex thinks that's not a balanced type of gameplay, he's totally right adding systems to prevent that, exactly like reducing the power of a skill, or a ship.

I actually do not. And it's no ordinary solo ship, but a ship equipped with the best weapons, and a character that is level 25+. And again that is only possible because the opposing side is not allowed to deploy all of the ships at once... so the fleet members come in chunks that are destroyed by a skilled player.
If you wanna use Diablo to compare it, it's not a lvl 1 fight against Diablo, but a lvl 80 fight against all the creeps in hell, which is exactly how Diablo plays. What happens right now is that a lvl 80 character looses because 20 lvl 1 enemies were split up in 4 groups.

thankfully this isnt a progression level grinder game. Its more like mount and blade, every if you have the best character there is nothing you can do if you are grossly out numbered. As it should be, you should have avoided the situation, the game shouldnt reward the player for it. "oh, well it seems you have gone headlong into a massive enemy fleet, alone. Well thats OK i guess we will just let you kill them all to feel better"

Off-topic, but actually it *was* possible in M&B: just get good equipment & skills for horse archer + resupply with arrows several times from chest and headshot everyone. Trivial if enemy has only melee footsoldiers,  becomes harder when enemy has lots of ranged units and/or really fast cavalry. I remember winning like that against 100-200 sized armies...
