How do I modify my saved game?

Specifically, I want to modify the amount of credits I have just so I can try out a bunch of the huge cap ships etc.

Also would it be possible to modify the starting ship you get? Can I start with a small fleet or a cap ship?

If you enable devmode and press "k" you will get more credits then you will ever need, here is a link to a thread on the subject:

Is this how to turn devmode on?


\starfarer-core\data\config\settings.json

Edit line 3 to read =true;

assuming windows, go to "my computer" then to "local disk" also sometimes labeled "C:\" then "Program Files(x86)" there should be a file called "Fractal Softworks" go into that, into the folder labeled "Starsector" then "starsector-core" then "data" then "config" then open "settings.json" with notepad and edit the third line to read true and save the file
