Hm, I'd normally go for games like command and conquer, but I think I'd prefer thomas was alone this time, if that's ok with you.

I honestly do not know as I do not use Origin, but I suspect it would require it to always be on.

I think you need origin for multiplayer but not single player? The steam page for CnC Uprising says:

INTERNET CONNECTION, ONLINE AUTHENTICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT REQUIRED TO PLAY. TO ACCESS ONLINE FEATURES, YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE.  so I don't think origin is required?

Even more bad news is that uprising can't even be played on multiplayer. They completely removed it for some reason...
