A few UI suggestions
« on: December 18, 2012, 11:34:26 AM »

Hi everybody!  :)

When venting flux, it would be nice to see not only the seconds remaining until it finishes venting, but also the tenths of a second. It's not really needed, but it'd fit with the fast pace of the battles and could actually be more useful than it is now.

Also, i'd love to see a countdown when using ship systems that have a cooldown, maybe shown at the right of where we have the system's status.

Speaking of system statuses i'd add (to the current "active" and "ready") "charging" and "inactive", the latter written in red as it means that the system is out of uses. I'm convinced there's a better word than inactive, but I can't come up with one.  :P
Logged can be assured that whatever comes out of the dev-oven will be fantastic and delicious. And it will also include frosting and sprinkles.

Hi Gabrybbo!

Alex already said he will overhaul the combat UI, so I think related suggestion that are made now have a chance to fall on fertile ground.

1) I don't see the necessity, I would probably be only annoyed by a fast ticker.

2) There is a graphical timer bar for duration and cooldown next to the system status, for me that's enough. Systems are normally not so time critical that I'd have to know the exact seconds. But for recharging like the phase skimmer does there is no timer, and that is indeed lacking.

The game was completed 8 years ago and we get a free expansion every year.

Arranging holidays in an embrace with the Starsector is priceless.
