Wow. Things will definitely get more interesting after that. I wonder what the community will look like after the steam release.

My bet would be that there would be a lot more idiots surfing around the forums. Hopefully, the worst of them would be expelled from here.

There's not been any official statement about that as far as I know. I seem to remember Alex saying a while ago that the game's not nearly finished enough to consider going to Greenlight, if it does at all.
Managed to find this quote on the matter

It's not "planned", strictly speaking - Steam has to accept it first, so I wouldn't feel comfortable using the word "planned" to describe the situation. At this point, we haven't talked to them about it, so they certainly haven't refused it, either :)

So yeah, not a sure-fire "It's deffo gonna happen" type thing.

But, even if the forum suffers as a result, i do hope this game gets onto steam :)

I find myself thinking that perhaps a dedicated starfarer-steam forum might be needed to keep this one sane... ish.

I know that sounds silly, but... but... the idiots can't be allowed to ruin this little corner of the internet.

If you start throwing newbies into concentration camps, we're going to have words, young man

I somehow don't think throwing newbies into concentration camps is a good idea. Just a hunch, though.

We all know. The know.

I don't get what that means. I'm probably just stupid. I dunno. Have faith guys! With a positive attitude and a guiding hand, I think we can avoid the past failures of other forums and integrate a far larger amount of equally intelligent, equally reasonable human beings. It just takes a few less than gentle nudges in the right direction.

Oh! Oh no no no... None of that unsightly business.

I'll just attach their leads to a centrifuge, and hope they can cope with an excess of 60Gs on their necks...
