So, I've just had to reformat my pc, due to a corruption in the operating system and, due to the lack of backing up working correctly, i've lost everything, all of my work, games, documents, videos, everything. so yeah, here is a tip:

BACKUP YOUR STUFF ON A REGULAR BASIS, THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!

I just lost my only decent hard drive so I feel you.  :/  Pretty sure I had my important stuff backed up, though.

Hopefully.  :)

I wish to rig it up so that whenever I plug my 1tb external hard drive in, in backs up everything onto it, any ideas?

This guy is in love with crash plan.

Sounds pretty decent actually. I can't remember anything else that is actually easy.

It's been ages since I've had a decent hard drive to backup to, but when I did, I was very paranoid with it. I would back up onto one, and then when I wanted to backup again, I'd do it to a second drive before cleansing the original for my next backup. I never wanted it to crash mid-backup, after I had reformatted the hard disk.
