Pixelated games don't use bilinear filters. Which are what graphics cards use when they scale an image up. Which is what happens when that image is too freaking tiny to be displayed properly.

Also, starfarer is not a pixelated game.

OP's got a point, it's just undermined by the fact that his alternative is horri-bad.

Pixelated like in "made with pixel-art" and "pixels visible".  Both applies.
