So, I figured I'd post this thread since I'm a big fan

Who here watches Star Trek, which one(s)? Favourite episode/character? Etc

I've seen TNG, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. Deep Space Nine kinda sucked until the Dominion shows up.

As far as my favorite character, I'd probably say Q.

I'm loving the next generation, and deep space 9 is my favourite, especially the cardassian "Tailor" (his name has escaped me, even though I just saw 3 episodes in a row lol)

His creepiness and secrity keeps me wanting more!

seen a bit of TNG, Voyager, and Enterprise (OK OK OK It's not real star trek!!! Don't lynch me!!!) mostly in passing, favorite char I'd say picard, not quite sure why, guess I just saw him the most is all..

most of my exposure to the franchise came from the games though, starfleet command series, bridge commander, and the various mods of other games like Soase and N:tji

The way Picard handles situations is amazing, all calm and composed, then richer, just the opposite, head butting Klingon mo'fos like nobody's business :P

Yeah, I thought Garak was easily the best character in DS9, but I still thought it was the worst of trio of series I've seen.

I liked DS9 the best by far. Only series with a real story ark. Only series with decisions and actions that mattered for more than one episode. Besides it had the only ST villain who left an impression with me,  Gul Dukat. Gharak and Sisko where quite likable too, and non of the other characters stood out as particularly annoying (which is a huge deal!).

Voyager had the best premise but completely blundered it. They turned what should have been a rough and uncertain journey home, bringing people and ship to their limits, into a happy-go-lucky trip. I would so have loved to see the morals and principles born out of the ST post-scarcity society collide with the harsh realities of survival in hostile territory, but no. Only episodes that came close to that were Equinox and  Year of Hell. Besides, except for the Doctor there were no really interesting characters in this show.

TNG has some strong episodes and some great characters. But the overall principle is taken over from TOS, resulting in little to no premise or continuousness, its basically a constant deus ex machina mixed with "character episodes". And some of those characters...Picard and Data are cool, but what the hell is up with...everyone else? Worf is an incompetent warmonger, Geordi an equally incompetent punching bag, and Deanna serves no apparent purpose whatsoever (Enemy threatening to destroy Enterprise: "I can feel hostility captain!").

I used to watch The Original Series when I was a kid and moved on to the other shows as time went by. I have never been a huge Trek fan but I do enjoy the old films (especially Star Trek IV). My favourite Trek episodes are the one withe the Tribbles ( ;D ) an in TNG when they encounter Borg for the first time. When I saw that episode I was blown away.

Enterprise was pretty okay, too bad it took them three seasons to get anywhere.

Voyager was pretty much crap all the way through, except for the double and tripple episodes.

Anyone heard of "Star Trek: Renegades"? It looks like a pretty cool project: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/star-trek-renegades

Hmm, haven't heard of that, will look out for it. Try deep space nine. The story is flawless
