The 'lack of class' version of the swear filter
« on: August 04, 2012, 03:55:42 AM »

Glad you changed it, but that was...

I don't know, I've tried to develop a thick skin, maybe there's a hole.

If you had asked me to stop swearing, I would have said yes. Instead, with no warning, I get insulted? Seriously disappointed to see that, even temporarily.

Just like to say that the *deleted* works much better and is less confusing, thanks for listening Astro, even if you never replied to me.

Alrenous, I've talked with Archduke a bit and I believe he just thought we were purposefully being more hard-headed than was necessary, go ahead and lock the thread, the discussion's not necessary. I don't think Astro is going to make a habit of that sort of PM, so by-gones > by-gones.

Are bygones in fact bygones?

Hmm, still seriously disappointed in the whole situation. Also, by PM do you mean private message? Because this wasn't in that form.

It was apparently changed at the request of a few folks, i doubt it was intended to offend and it's been changed, so i don't see why you made this thread when the error was already realized and corrected.

BTW Austupaio, when alrenous said insulted im pretty sure he meant the swear filter insulting him, not anyone sending PMs with insults in them.

Because I'm still disappointed about it.

... I have to ask, what exactly do you want to happen from here.

If I was angling for a particular response, I wouldn't angle, I would have come out and said what I thought should happen.

See, if you don't care that I'm disappointed, that's fine. However, it looks like both you and Austupaio are against me being disappointed, or perhaps against me saying so.

FWIW, I believe it was intended to be humorous rather than insulting. I can see how you might interpret it otherwise, though. I'm certainly not going to tell you how to feel, but given that I firmly believe that it was intended to be humorous, I think that you might be reacting a bit too strongly to a slight that wasn't intended. And you were cursing, after all. Bygones will be bygones - if you let them :)

Can I use 'wasn't intended' as an excuse myself?

I mean, I don't think I'll break any rules, but the first I realized there was a rule against swearing...

Edit: http://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=2668.0
Plus, it is locked, which means the rule can't be added.
