I'd have to check it again to be absolutely sure, but I'm pretty sure the ammo charge is in place as a measure to keep the weapon from animating while it's on cooldown.

If I remember correctly, it's to avoid messing up the animation with the skill that double the fire-rate.

I assumed it was something like that. Thanks.

Have been playing around with SRA comission, the Clade is such a fun ship to fly, sometimes you ram into the enemy fleet when you aim your Retro Drive wrong, that causes engine failure, that causes the Retro Drive to not slow down, that causes the Clade to plummet through the enemy line with speed of 600 sending ships flying into each other.  ;D

You heard that. We need a ship made entirely for ramming.
I propose a Morning Star... With the retro drive mounted in the opposite direction. And spikes.

YES, should be a ship with detachable front armor that has very high max speed but needs longer time to achieve it, also no shields.

It's an interesting idea, and quite doable with TwigLib (or just giving it an armor rich drone), but making it something the AI could use in semi-competent way would be difficult at best.

Reminds me of that Neutrino hammertime ship. The mission with it in there was always pretty fun.

Mshadowy is, like most of the SS modders, an artist who makes her own assets.

Shadowy has said that one of the inspirations is a game called Homeworld, but the ship styles are all original (and awesome).

Well, there's more to it than that of course, but Homeworld, and, in turn, the work of artists like Chriss Foss were definitely a strong influence on how I think of and design sci-fi ships and so on.  Not the sole influence, but probably the most influential.

Regardless, the point is that they're their own unique synthesis of various things I enjoy, and not a derivative work.

Not to be rude but I really don't feel the Homeworld influence in SRA, SRA ships are so sleek and segmented and honestly remind me a lot of beetles and other such insects, while Homeworld tended to make very utilitarian and 2D designs into 3D spaceships, vessels were either long or tall but virtually never both, and were often relatively flat with a few outliers such as the Taidan heavy cruiser and such.

Many of them remind me a lot the Gorg's ships
