Missile priority

How do missiles choose which target to hit? Proximity? Ship size? Whether they were set as target? I was fighting an Enforcer with an Onslaught nearby once, and my harpoons veered off course to go for the Onslaught. The Enforcer was closer.

I believe it's the closest ship if you haven't set a specific target. :)

Missiles choose the target closest to your mouse. If it's a fighter, it'll chase the wing leader... I think?

Just tested this with a massive swarm of modded missiles -

Missiles either target the enemy closest to your cursor, or they target your selected target, unless that target is already disabled, in the case it goes back to targeting the enemy closest to your cursor. but if the first target selected by the missile is destroyed before it gets there it'll choose the closest target.

With fighter wings the same applies, you can use the cursor to select a specific member of the wing. you can put the cursor near or on top of a specific fighter and the missiles will go after that one from launch.
