Hey guys I just wanted to post this. I really wanted to thank you for putting in the time on the wiki. It is growing nicely, and it is useful!

I actually went on there myself to check out some ship stats.

So glad the game has a Wiki. Can't wait to see it grow with Starfarer.

Thank you for the beautiful gift, and I appreciate your appreciation. I'm sure Apophis does too, but won't say so because he's the living vindication of "lurk moar".

By the way, we need some more lore to add to the wiki. Please. *cracks whip*

Ow that whip hit my eye!

...

;D

The lore is coming, dammit. I keep tweeting about every new ship I write about, the weapons are pretty much wrapped up.

And by wrapped up, I don't mean "done." This stuff is never ever truly done. :|

Anyway, I ain't a heartless bastard, I've been in your shoes, so here is a bit on the Conquest-class (Note: subject to change):

Conquest

Type: Battlecruiser
Mass: 120 Mt
Propulsion: 230.5 MN
FTL Drive: In-Hull
Range: TBD
Crew Complement: 1000 crew & officers

The Conquest-class battlecruiser is the embodiment of concentrated firepower. Its development can be traced to the modernization of tactical thought of Domain military in the period just preceding the popularization of small fighter strike craft and carriers. Space Naval tacticians of the day were confident that new weapons systems would always outperform armor and shields and thus were the key to winning an engagement. So why not build a ship for speed and power? Give it better armor protection than a cruiser, arm it with the best weapons available to any ship, yet have it remain faster than any of those lumbering behemoths of the line. The Conquest is a good example of these concepts put into a hull. Many other advanced technologies were fit into the design, including weapon mounts designed for a circling engagement. This maneuver requires greater navigational skill while serving to provide more tactical options to the commanding officers.

Fortune favors the bold, the ancients said. This class of ships does indeed favor the bold captain, willing to risk everything for the thrill of conquest.

Very nice, thanks for sharing that. Can't wait to see what else you've come up with.

I notice that it takes a thousand men to crew a Conquest, yet there is but one shuttle, and nary an escape pod in sight. I never gave this much thought before, but now I wonder how many men are onboard each Onslaught-class battleship. Such glee I took in destroying the Bis'Mar, ignorant of the hundreds of grieving families....

Erebos,

That is not a shuttle or a escape pod. I have always been calling it the Captain's Yacht. Shuttles are actually in the game as proper ships you can use as your own. The little guy is named "shuttle" for now but it will most likely change.

Unless Alex vetoes me for some reason ;D

Anyway, the Captain's Yacht is big enough for the command staff only (yourself and your personal staff). We have yet to see if it can fit senior officers...

"Command Shuttle" :)

Also, when a ship is disabled, I wouldn't assume that all the crew is dead. A large portion of them are alive in various sections of the hull. With hand-blasters ready to repel any parties attempting to board the ship's hulk.

My bad, I forgot about both points. Naturally the first scene in Star Wars comes to mind, and I'll be very interested to see how boarding is implemented.
