Well, you could just plug in an equation for the game to read, maybe this: (X being the number of that type of ships in the stations, Y being the price, and Z being the end price)

Z = (Y - (100X))

So if there is one ship, say a Buffalo Mk.II in a station, and you want to sell another one, it would be 100 credits less than the last.  Of course, there would have to be a buffer of some sort to prevent the player from selling so many the price pays them.  Maybe stop the price at 20%?  I don't know.  Maybe:

Z > 20/Y

Now, I'm not even sure if Java uses equations like that, it's just a random thing to illustrate economy.

Yes...

Indeed I have! Was a Goddamn trade mogul with 4-5 stations and a battlefleet plus cruisers/destroyers as convoy escorts for my trade freighters, but then a Goddamn paranid battlefleet with 7-8 battleships warps on and decided to crash my party. Which means I lost 4 stations, the battlefleet (which took down 5 out of their battleships) and 4 out of my tradefleets. >:(

Also, The Soldiers suggestion for ship economy sounds really nice! Now I'd want that into the mod, as an mod exclusive! :D

to create some kind of trade you can always try to make the prices between faction differently.
or create a new type (somthing like cargo) which is very cheap ,but  can be bought in large amounts and shipped to other faction to sell at a higher price.

Yeah, the idea for it is simple, but the execution of the idea is tough, though. It requires one to do stuff on my own, which I don't have a clue about.

No success. I've asked a guy who knows java very well (he who creates that economy mod ;)) but so far, he hasn't responded. Oh well, i'm back to playing portal 2 ;D

No problem. I don't mind fixing this kind of stuff when you need help. I just don't want to be a major coder on your mod team until I get the economy mod up and running. :)

Just want to give a short, quick update on this:

I've finished the CDF and Sidus Dim into campaign, now only three more factions remain to tidy up and we can release DEMO 4

(after some testing, ofcourse ;))

Also, I've got a question here, should we keep the style of the faction in the direction we're headed right now (each faction has It's own unique style of ships) or should we aim for a more sewn-together look of the ships? (Remember, if you want to compare our ships to vanilla, Remember that the current vanilla faction didn't make their own ships like our factions do, but instead they use ships constricted by a single faction, the Domain.)

Right, then we're going to head in that direction! I'll make a promise right now, that everything will be stiched together when DEMO 4 comes out.


And now we also need someone capable of doing custom SFX for us. Anyone up to the task?

(Also, would you guys like the ships Mr.Davidoff made in his dump as main ships for the independents? :D)

having one style would be kinda hard since a spriting style is hard to copy.
if you would want to have a single style you will need just one spriter or everyone should use kitbashing or battleshipforever.
