I could do some light sprite work, I can also write descriptions/come up with ideas for just about everything.

Perhaps a little sneak peak of a ship ill use for the mining part/unit of the "independents", made by the great spriter yet still a bit hipster, Happiefache.

So here it is. thee(rumble please)

Coffin



Made for defending bigger Mining operations, This ship is one big hunk of armor with one big ballistic slot. Really vulnerable when moved and slow, hence the name "coffin".

Frigate/destroyer(most likely will be a frigate)
hull: 2500
armor: 600
max flux: 3500
dissipation:125
op: 35
speed: 80
No shield
min crew: 15

So like, I can totally make:
Any sort of relatively simple ship (no groundbreaking coding [such as making things invisible etc.])
Sprites from small assortments of existing kitbash and 80% drawing from scratch
Weapons (the coding not sprites) and I would be fine with trying to make some new mechanics on weapons (I have been thinking of trying a drone launcher).
So yeah if you want I could help out with this (Although I would prefer making more Tri-Tach-esque new-age ships with cool mechanics [like very small arc shields that have a VERY high flux/damage rate, or drone launchers {a "missile launcher that deploys single fighters}]). I would love to work on this; however I have a lot of school/sport stuff to do so the things I could do in a week would be slightly limited.
Tl;dr: Pair me up with someone and lets make a badass futuristic faction!
Below are my current sprites that are made from like 65-75% scratch (their color can be changed accordingly to green or purple or whatever is needed.)

A basic mining drone converted into a corvette for the Pirates:

It has 2 ships per wing, high armor, hull and maneuvering values, but has no shields, speed or firepower, since it only carries a single mining laser with an extra capacitor.

I was thinking along the lines of 1270 for the hull, 320 armor, excellent maneuver, but only 95 top speed.

The mining laser would be a bit better than the vanilla one, say, along the lines of this:

Range: 375
flux/s: 45
DPS: 40

Do you think it would look better with only the armor turned purple?

They look amazing! :D, try a saucer like sprite as a capital ship or destroyer please? Rig it with only energy stuff and we are good to go :D

Hey Upgrade are you thinking of making some kind of submission format? it seems to me that if everyone is just hurling random sprites and descriptions around (cool as they are), we are going to have trouble. Maybe start a new thread for submissions, another for conversations, and a third for requests for help with projects and new ideas.

Christ almighty, in the time it took me to make a new light flak weapons sprite, code it, and do testing, this mod got a name, what looks like about three new factions!  Anyway, I'm working on the "sniper" cannon, which will be a guilded shell (long story made short, it's an uber-Hypervelocity driver, lots of magnets propel the shell at long range.  the shell has a plasma tip on it to pierce both armor and shields).  The Light Flak is about half as effective as the normal flak, but it fits on a small mount.  I'll get to posting pictures tomorrow, it's getting late here.
