I would be making sprites, but I have to take the AP in an hour and I am using another person's computer to get on the forum, so no spriting tools or resources  :(

But i was thinking a high number of planets accompanied by a star for each 5-6 plabets (to symbolise several starsystems ;))

Well, this is possible either now or after the multiple starsystem implementation.

If we are going to do it now:

We just use the existing sector, change the name of the starsystem (to something more fitting) and then expand upon it.  We could place the planets as far away from the current sun(s) as we want.  AND we could have more suns aswell, but then these would be outside the map grid, ofcourse.

Or option 2:

We just wait for alex to finish up the multiple starsystems code, so that we may enjoy it aswell.

What should we do? (Note: Even if we pick the second option, that doesn't mean that we won't do any work on the mod itself. We would then have more dedicated time for the factions, ships, weapons and everything else. (portraits aswell)so that we have everything done for implementation once Alex gets it done ;))

I think that we should put this to a vote. However, I would submit the case that if we do produce the mod before Alex releases the coding for interstellar travel, there is a very good chance that there will be a need for a substantial overhaul in order to make the two compatible. I think that we could work on the lore and descriptions, but not the coding yet.

I'd actully prefer to wait until alex get's the multiple starsystems code done. Until he does that, we have a lot of time to get everything else done in the mod. Remember, this is not just your ordinary mod with only one or two factions, but this will include tens of (maybe even dozens; who knows) of factions, and we have a lot of time to work on them all.  We should focus on the first sprites and build something resonable out of them ;)

Indeed.  Though we don't want to do the coding yet on the campaign, we could always get some missions done, and factions, and ships ;)
