Winning an "x must survive" mission without x surviving

I just won the 'Nothing Personal' mission without the ISS Aesir surviving. I suspect this occurred because the Aesir was destroyed after destroying the last opposing ship (very shortly after, as it was destroyed by the explosion of that ship).

I've noticed this bug in other missions. The first time it happened I was blatantly failing and wondered if I'd misread the mission requirements. No, instead some missions don't seem to have the required flag set.
