not to rain on your parade, but do we really need another star wars mod in the works?

http://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=969.0

Seems like offering your help with that mod would be a better idea?

I'll highlight the gameplay video better, as you missed the point ;).

To clarify: the mod will have *nothing* to do with Star Wars. It'll be a universe where huge titans (with 100+ turrets) clash on the battlefield. The Titans sprite are not specifically related to vanilla and can quite possibly coming from anywhere, as long as they fit into the overall style.

If anyone find a big sprite (up to 3000x3000) I can see if I can convert in a mighty Titan-class.

In the end there'll be a lot of "small" factions, each characterized by 1-2 titan-class type of ships.

That's good...

I do miss the feeling of ponderous spaceships from other games

Is the framerate good tho?

Also since ur going for near unlimited range... Is there a way to zoom out farther than we could right now?

I'm thinking of two things that might make this a little tough. The first is that I don't know if the HUD in battle has room for all of those weapons. Second thing is I don't know if the AI can handle controlling so many weapons. It still sounds super awesome though.

The AI is perfect for the task, while the ship it's almost uncontrollable in the hands of a player (the 100 weapon arcs makes it a lagfest). But I'm fine with it, they are "boring" to fly anyway (so slow), the player should have more fun flying a fast and armored corvettes\fighter.

Thinking again: you can set a big part of the weapons on auto-fire and use the most damaging 10\15. That way is playable.

Love the idea behind this project. Would be awesome to have some big ships duke it out.
