Use of TA map textures is... interesting, as a concept, but I'm not sure it works quite so well 'on paper'.

This page might have some useful inspiration if you continue with the TA theme, though.

In the end, I wasn't able to find any decent quality high-res sprites and I like Austupaio's art. (also the idea of TA go well together with the concept of the mod)

If you know someone able to produce 2000x2000 lore friendly sprites, let me know, I can still change my mind ;).

Seen that page and while yes I've used it for inspiration for my more normally sized sprites (not in this thread) the fact of the matter is that Uomoz wants gigantic images. I'd be more than happy to try a suggested method for accomplishing something that would look not totally bland once turned into a >12002 ship.

My super awesome monitor is only 2560x1440... could do multiple displays with the 1900x1080 (or is it 1200) 3D monitor for that

Yeah, you need devmode zoom to fly a Titan. But that's not the purpose of the mod, you shouldn't be flying them (it's not really doable with the game engine).

What part? RAM? I have 8GB...

If we can run Cryengine 2 then I doubt it would be hardware issues...

So...

is it like how Minecraft can't run explosions very well? The Dell XPS I was talking of had an i72630QM, 8GB DDR3, 3GB GT55M OC'D to 700MHz.

I have a laptop and I slow down when I fly past Synchrony with it's uber tight *** of asteroids. I don't think I'm ever gonna be able to play with titans.

What if there were weapon banks? Groups of 10 or 20 guns. That would help.

You could disable arcs.

just do the first group of the 5 being blank and let all other gun shoot auto :D problem solved, oooor do the first group being the super duper "super-weapon" so you do the good aim :D

You could simplify the arcs and remove say the dotting or such.
