The rebels (GSB faction mod)

Hi all,

First attempt modder here

This mod adds a 10 ship faction to the vanilla game, along with a station orbiting Corvus IV as their main base

The ships are mostly balanced through my own testing as well as keptin's shipbalance suite, but that is as of 0.51 and testing was not that comprehensive so feel free to post here if anything feels imba

as is the station has no supply convoys, will add them as soon as I know how.

the Rebels typically have fastish ships, yeah? (Been a while since I've played GSB, I admit.) I think maneuvering thrusters would be most appropriate for them.  You could roll your own set of systems if you felt inventive - perhaps a single-charge, reeeeaaaally slow-to-recharge teleporter for something in the destroyer size range?

Perhaps something that lets them go quite a lot quicker without burn-drive restrictions, but burns a fair chunk of constant flux while active (you can do this with maneuvering thrusters tweaked to give more speed and less turn boost)?

Things like that might be required if you want to keep the faction identity strong.  Otherwise, just work out what works best on each ship and slap one on - possibly some fast missile racks or accelerated ammo feeds as well?  They are quite generic though.  I suggest re-reading the GSB descriptions and hull-bonuses, and seeing if you can cross-apply some of them where appropriate.

I'm thinking about movement systems too (in keeping with the lore ofc)

probably gonna be piecing together the burn drive and manoeuvring thrusters somehow... Oh the balancing...
