How can i change music files?
« on: August 08, 2020, 06:13:42 PM »

I have tried replacing the "owned colony" theme with another theme, i made sure to put the same name , but it does not work at all, and ended somehow permanently breaking starsector with a THICK fatal error

How exactly did you "replace" the theme? Did you replace the entire sound file with another one? Did you change the file name? Did you change the reference in sounds.json?

And (for sanity's sake) do please post the error log.

I'm guessing you didn't replace the entire music.bin file (just the specific track you wanted to change inside it, if you modified it at all), but if you did, don't do that unless you know how to edit such files. Use a separate file and reference it in sounds.json instead.

Otherwise upload the sound file you're using, it may have the wrong format.
