Hello is there a way to change the resolution? i have a 4K TV that i play on but the highest resolution i can pick is 1920x1080 but my native resolution is 3840x2160.... so when i play the game its kinda blurry for me and hurts my eyes.

is there a way to force the game to use my native resolution of 3840x2160 instead of the 1920 one? thanks. I really want to play this game but i cant if the resolution is just so low.

I think all the graphics are done with pixels not vectors in Starsector meaning you would not get any increase in fidelity by going up in resolution.  1080p has perfect 2x pixel scaling with 4k anyways.

I think some people actually managed to play in resolutions higher than 1080p but I can't remember what they did. Good news tho is that the next update will add more graphical options including 4k and UI scaling.

You can go to Starsector\starsector-core\data\config, open the settings.json file, find value "4kThreshold" and change it to 9999 or whatever. You should be able to choose higher resolutions then, but be aware that there's no UI scaling and all text will be small, maybe even unintelligible.
