I have a few space games. So I am wondering what space games are most similar to Starsector?

In no particular order:

Endless Sky
S.P.A.Z.
Void Expanse
Wayward Terran Frontier: Zero Falls
Transcendence
Naev
Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages
Star Nomad 2
Escape Velocity Nova

There are others I've missed.

I'd say X2: the threat, and other games from X universe

Space Empires 4(steam)
This is starsector with micromanagement set to 9000. Fun, weird, and will run on a potato laptop.

I really liked Sword of the Stars' combat. The ship designer, research and battles are some of the best and most satisfying. Full 3d with physics—heavy mass driver hits can knock away light ships etc etc.

Sword of the Stars 2 on Steam...well, the game was released half-baked and bugged beyond belief. But the ships and battles are the most gorgeous I've seen in a 4X. All fully simulated, none of this random generator or other bullshite.

Sword of Stars 1 was true gold, with all races having different propulsion systems completely changing play style.

Sots2... never reached truly playable status as far as I'm concerned. Even simple task of going from A to B is so horribly over-complicated with fleet mission mechanics that AI simply can't play it at all (as in getting ships where and when they need to be). Or at least that's the impression I got last time I tried it (enhanced edition).
