Best ships to use in pursuit auto-resolve?
« on: March 13, 2020, 04:59:46 AM »

So, what are your favorite ships to give your second-in-command to pursuit the enemy forces with in order to destroy most ships?

I found out that speed in this case is probably more important than firepower, and ships that have both (Wolf, Sunder, Odyssey) generally perform well.

Also, in my experience, sending all your fleet doesn't really improve your chances.

How do you decide what ships to send and how many?

You can use barely armed cargo ships for auto-resolve pursuit, works just about as well and doesn't cost any CR on ships that matter.

If I'm not mistaken I think it just depends on the DP of ships you select. I'm almost 100% sure speed makes no difference.

Nice idea! I'll try it out. Still wonder though how the game calculates pursuit effectiveness. Is it really just DP?

Edit: apparently it only works with combat freighters, no Atlas and Prometheus pursuits, even if they have weapons equipped
