That's cool af, I love it.
The art of this game is realy unique, it's perfect for the whole sci-fi style of the game.

Continue the good work !!

Hmm, the second image at the end, is that angle from in the middle part of the object?

When i bought this game quite awhile ago, i was in for a game such as this. Heck some parts i was in for even though i didn't even know there was something in to like.
First game that truly made me appreciate artistic talent and devotion to the degree it deserves. Sure we all like the glittery shader candy we get, but there just isn't anything that is computer generated that truly comes close to true creation of art.

But can we use the giant lamp to burn Jangala to a crisp?
Then pack it up and do it again to the next Hegemony colony?

On behalf of Tri-Tachyon corporation PR department, I request you stop with these witty remarks. Associating ourselves with Adobe Inc. is highly undesirable and working against the image of our enterprise. Have a nice day.

Very nice and very pretty.

Important question, can I turn it around and blast ships with it?

If I wanted to do something evil with the sun device, I would want to use it as a strategic planet-killer weapon, like a mini-death star.  Something that can kill the planet in a way that conventional sat bombing cannot do, like making said planet disappear.

However, I would most likely use it for terraforming.

This is great! Regarding the last illustrations, I get why the 1st is not being used. However, it is gorgeous. I would love for their to eventually be a little gallery of the concept art that doesn't make the cut. Maybe part of a collectors edition after sales hit 1 million?

The earth is metric (and flat), so it receives about 1000watts per square meter on the surface. The US area is about 10^13 square meters, requiring 10^16 watts from space. That would take at least 100 grams of raw matter worth of energy per second (half antimatter, half normal), and classic hydrogen fusion transforms 0.7% of the hydrogen mass into energy. It'd need to burn around 14kg of pure deuterium fuel every second, or over 50 tons per hour (even more if it was packaged as heavy water), to maintain that scale of energy output, and that's assuming a pretty world where nothing goes wrong!

Or in another scale, it's at least 3 Tsar Bombas per minute.  ;)

Surely there must be an easier way of creating apocalyptic levels of energy.

Well...

"a thingy you will be able to find around certain star(s)"

Means its an instrument for the star manipulation.

Star on the picture is a blue giant.

Artstyle of the thingy is mostly reversed compared to the mini-sun.

My bet its The Star Dimmer.

And the whole series is about giving the player ability comparable to solar shades and mirrors but in the tranportable form.

Backpack astroengineering.

And just as you would expected its already eyed for its capabilities of mass destruction.

I like both of the last two angles and...

You know how you can fly through dead domain gates?

Well there is no reason you cannot have confirmation dialogue with different images to provide an into to objects which are definitely of small import.

So... por qua no las dos?

Always intersting to see the processes behind the artwork. My guess is that you can use the solar lamp to degrade the CR or bounce away chasing fleets.
