Performance options?
« on: December 21, 2019, 04:06:10 AM »

-128mb video memory/ 1,9gb memory shared

-4gb ram

-AMD E2-9000 RADEON R2.

My laptop is pretty below the minimal game requirements, but i still manage to play stable after running the game for a few minutes. But im still trying to find any way to tweak the game to run at lowest settings to run the game wihout lagging hard.

Theres no settings modifier besides Battlesize then again its mostly dependent on your RAM (If you allocated any) and CPU Single Cores mostly from what Ive experienced.

Go windowed mode instead of full screen if you can.

The lower the resolution the more FPS you can get.

Turning off sound gives a tangible amount of frames.

In previous versions upping the memory available for the java program was a possibility, although I think this is helps more for loads of mod/memory usage instead of faster performance.

The battle station is not completely operational, shall we say.

"Now witness the firepower of this thoroughly buggy and unoperational batt... Oh, hell, you know what? Just ignore the battle station, okay?"

Could try this. http://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=12503.0
NO. Xeno mods are VERY well known for not playing nice with other mods, having changes that were not listed or meant to be in the mod (like a commission income boost in an AI mod) and for basically locking you into that ecosystem of mods.
Oh, and that mod would not do anything on its own to help with performance issues

It says it right there. It's an FX replacer mod that turns particles into cheaper effects. Radeon R2 belongs to a family of chips that struggles hard even with vanilla OpenGL. Anything to lighten the load will give more FPS.

Works fine in my playthrough with about a dozen faction mods and as many utility mods. I'm not talking about adding anything else from the modpack.

Edit: Also, it should be said that after comparison, the FPS gain is small. This is for a R9. A R2 may be different.

The performance improvements the FX Mod offers are *tiny* to the point of basically not mattering at all. While also (subjectively) downgrading the visuals of the game and messing with other mods as well.
