downloading mods on mac
« on: December 06, 2019, 11:25:08 PM »

I've enjoyed starsector a lot and I consider it one of my favorite games right now.

but I've been having difficulties trying to figure out how to open the game files on mac and putting mods and allocating ram and all the other stuff

so if someone here knows how to do that could you please help me a little?
thank you very much

Hi - IIRC you need to right-click on the application and select "show package contents".

After that, you can edit memory allocation in Contents/MacOS/starsector_mac.sh, these two lines:
-Xms1536m \
-Xmx1536m \

You want to change them both to the same value.

As for mods, you'd put them in the mods/ folder that's... I think it's at the top level of the package? If not, look around for it :) It should be on the same level as the saves/ folder.

P. S. Happy you've been enjoying the game!
