And I read the bit about the 465th Legion. Are there any plans to add them as a faction to the game, or is it moving in a different direction?

They're the Hegemony.

No they're not.

One such alliance was formed by the only real marines in the sector at the time of the Collapse. A detachment sent by the Domain pre-Collapse, as matter of policy, they were hardly an elite unit. However, they had the equipment and the mentality to be fighters. The name of the unit was the 465th Legion, and their settled world remains Selenius IV, in the Selenius system. They banded together with those they considered their fighting equals in space – a patrol wing of the Naval Colonial Security Forces, based off the asteroid belt in the Sanguinar Major system. Neither one of the units accepted the control of Task Force Pollux and fought for the independence of their planets. They fought not only the Hegemony, but pirates and corsairs, warlords, Ludii and other small time alliances.

Oh, I missed the bit where they fought the Hegemony!  Weird, lol.  I guess they're like the Ko Combine; one of the mysterious little bits of the lore that doesn't have any canon presence in the game yet

I assumed they lost to what eventually became the Hegemony.

The Hegemony incorporated the 200th Legion (which was a fleet), the 465th Legion (marines) we don't know anything about.

Maybe they were scrapped and replaced by the Sindrian Diktat in the lore.

This is the old lore. No mentioned planets exist in the core or nearby so this must have been jettisoned out.
