Your Favourite Rapier Class Carrier Loadouts.

Exactly what it says in the title,

It overloads most anythings shields in about 3 seconds letting my HE Guns Rip into them until they die a horribly painful death.
I prefer LR PD for Point Defense more than any other energy PD, The Dual Flak Cannons rip into any fighters that are stupid enough to try to flank me.

All small energy to burst pd lasers, they works very well.
5 flaks for extra PD (yes, i'm carrier, and big target, so more pd)
Now the broadside, i totally ignore heavy weapons, i put 4 HE medium weapons, and i tear down stuff 3 times my size with fighter support.
Not even the alien behemot could take my broadside + fighters at same time.



I feel like the maulers do a good job and last more than heavy mounts for less OP, so i can pimp it out with more hull mods.

How do you manage against shielded targets? You have nothing but HE and Frag damage on that thing. Do you change your loadout when facing TTs? Two or three heavy machine guns there can really up the efficiency on that thing.

I'm a carrier mate, i have 10 wasp wings and 10 xyphos wings in my fleet.
Those take the shields down quickly enough and mass HE on my broadside means that as soon as the shield is gone/i get into a good firing angle their armos is toast.
Also all the PD you see is because this mods has some fleets that are very fighter intensive, so i wanna stay on the safe side.

I have since changed the loadout on my carrier, I've actually taken down a lone Pargon   :D

I still think my criticism applies even if it's a carrier. That it can still be outfitted better in my view and free up those wings for something else other than protecting it. You really don't need all that HE, a kinetic weapon like the heavy machine gun will do just fine once the armor is out of the way, all weapons do max damage to hulls. You probably only need one HE gun to deal with a section of the armor.
