Version checker is great. Can it be intergraded into the game launcher?

My potato of a laptop takes a long time load up the game, only for me to find out that there is a new version of a mod I am using is out once I am finally in-game. It would be best if I could found out if there any mods that are outdated before I even launch the game.

Why do you say that? Barring the issues of course with integrating a mod with the base game, why WOULDN'T you want some kind of version checker built into the launcher? It doesn't auto update mods you know

Anyways no can't really be done as a mod, but there are other ways it could be done in theory.
