AI fleets in game never use transverse jump, I imagine they don’t because if a technology like that really existed, it would be illegal except in emergencies. This is because without a warp point, you can’t send a probe across to tell you that the other side is clear, so anyone transverse jumping runs the risk of emerging into traffic and causing a collision. Space is huge, so it’s not a huge risk, but people would still take it seriously, akin to when someone lands a plane on taxiway, or driving a car on the opposite lane. And people would allow it in emergencies, like how ambulances often drive in the oncoming lane when responding to emergencies.
