I recovered an Onslaught (XIV) with two (D) mods (one of them Increased Maintenance - yuck!), and I acquired all of the (XIV) blueprints from stealth raiding Hegemony over time.  With millions of credits to burn, I decided to get a pristine Onslaught (XIV) one way or another.  I compared restoration of my two (D) mod Onslaught (XIV) and the cost to build a new one with Heavy Industry, and restoration was about 10k to 20k cheaper than building a new one.  It is like restoration fee was using basic Onslaught as the base for restoration cost instead of the (XIV) hull.  Needless to say, I restored my clunker to good as new, without the wait and for less cost of building a new one.

Of course, if I want to do this again, I need to recover another from a deserter fleet, instead of building another myself.

Thank you - that is indeed what was going on; fixed.
