How do I add a Stable Location to a System?
« on: August 25, 2019, 12:22:42 PM »

I figured I'd try my hand at customizing a system so I could experiment with system modding, so I opened up my campaign.xml file, copied what *looked* like the code for a stable location from one system, and slapped it into another system at about the same spot in the code (relatively speaking). That looked like it was spawning the stable location too far from the star to be useful, so I tried changing what looked to be coordinate values, but that didn't seem to do anything. Then I tried taking the code for a stable location that was closer to its star, but when I pasted that in, it disappeared altogether. What am I missing here on how to change the locations or add new objects within a star system?

You need to use Java code for System generation, not the XML in the save-file, to do this with any degree of reliability.  I'd suggest looking at how SectorGen handles this initially to get a good handle on what's going on.
